"Most of what we know, or think we know we have never personally experienced. We live in a world erected by the stories we hear, see, and tell. It is a world of incredible riches of imagery and words, conjuring up the unseen through art, creating towering works of imagination and fact through science, poetry, song, tales, reports, and laws--the true magic of human life. Stories socialize us into roles of gender, age, class, vocation, life-style, and offer models of conformity or targets for rebellion. They weave the seamless web of the cultural environment that cultivates most of what we think, what we do, and how we conduct our affairs."
- George Gerbner, Wide Angle 20.2 (1998), p. 116
Let's face it I love everything about filmmaking. Maybe this is why a childhood passion for photography became a hobby that blossomed into a world of cinema. After more than 20 years behind the lens, I honestly can say that I love my job. Listening to stories, meeting new people, and immersing myself in unfamiliar situations is the juice that feeds my soul. As a filmmaker I find life incredibly compelling; storytelling is a delicate balance of human understanding coupled with compassion and reason. The human experience provides communicators with rich materials; let me help you capture your story. |
